Happy holidays wherever you are in the world.
2024 has been a challenging year for a variety of personal reasons, but it has been a banner year professionally and I’ve laid the groundwork for what is shaping up to be an exciting 2025. More on that soon.
THE THRILLER ZONE
You can hear me and David Temple, the host of The Thriller Zone, talk about my latest novel, DEADBEAT, putting life into two columns, and a whole host of other things by clicking here.
GRAND BAY LIFE
In episode two of Grand Bay Life, I offer thoughts on how we can give ourselves options as creatives, and my associate, otherwise known as youngest son, demonstrates some simple exercise options on the beach.
REVIEWS
DEADBEAT is an Amazon.com editors pick for December and has been feature by People as one of the best thrillers of the month. I’d like to thank everyone who has bought a copy and all those who’ve taken the time to read and review it. In particularly, I’d like to thank Andy Wormald and Karen Cole, whose reviews really struck a chord with me because they both spoke to something I was trying to achieve as an author. Andy was taken with the though-provoking nature of the book. That’s something I try to achieve with all my books, but with DEADBEAT I took it further. The novel is written from the central character’s perspective as though it’s a true crime memoir and Peyton challenges the reader throughout. You can read Andy’s review here.
Karen also thought DEADBEAT was thought-provoking and moving, but she highlighted the dangerous way Peyton engages readers and somehow manages to get them to sympathize with them. I set out to write an antihero we might love and in doing so I think I’ve demonstrated that even a true villain can be turned into a loveable rogue if they’re given enough air time. You can read Karen’s review here.
As we head into the final stretch of 2024, I hope you and yours are doing well. Until next time, wishing you the very best
